East Gwillimbury (EG) offers a variety of programs and activities for people aged 55+ and is home to several seniors’ community groups. See how you can sign up for a program or get involved below. Recreational programs are a great way to stay fit, improve cognitive ability, and reduce stress. Find the perfect program for you and start reaping the benefits today.

Pre-registration is required for our some Older Adult Programs. Registration is available online on i-Reg, by calling 905-478-4282 or in-person at Customer Service at the EG Sports Complex (E.G.S.C.) or Civic Centre.

Program Information and Reminders
Explore new places and create lasting memories on any upcoming older adult bus trips. All trips are taken on a luxury coach bus.
Program Reminders:
- The bus will be leaving at the scheduled departures times. To avoid missing the bus, please arrive 15 minutes early to sign-in with the trip leader.
- Pick up and drop-off locations are ROSS Family Complex (Mount Albert) and EG Sports Complex (Sharon).
Our drop-in programs offer a fun and supportive environment for adults of all ages and skill levels. Pickleball, public skating, and fitness are just a few programs we offer!
Program Reminders:
- For gymnasium and fitness programs, please wear indoor non-marking shoes appropriate for your activity
- For racquet sports, participants must come with their own age/size appropriate racquet
- For skating programs, participants must bring their own skates. CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended.

Local Older Adult Community Groups
East Gwillimbury has three older adult community groups for older adults to get involved, meet new people, and try something new in their home community. Each group offers community events and programs for everyone to participate in. Get engaged and learn more about what’s available below:

The Golden Anchor Seniors Club (GASC) is a members-based club that is open to all residents of East Gwillimbury who are 50 years of age and older. The Club hosts several daily activities including bingo, cards, special luncheon events, and many other functions at the Holland Landing Community Centre in the Golden Anchor Room. Non-members may attend and participate in Club activities with additional fees and exemptions. Learn more about GASC:

Mount Albert Friendship Club for Seniors
The Mount Albert Friendship Club for Seniors welcomes 55 years of age and older to join activities such as euchre, ice cream social, bus trips and more! Learn more about the club:
