Temporary Detours and Route Changes

1 - Mainline Detour

Route 1 - Mainline will be on detour until further notice due to construction on Fort William Rd. from the corner of Fort William Rd. & Water Street to Court St. & John St.

The following stops will be out of service:

1113 - Ft. Wm. Rd. & Court
1198 - Ft. Wm. Rd. & Lisgar
1112 - Ft. Wm. Rd. & Spofford
1200 - Ft. Wm. Rd. & Water
1197 - Ft. Wm. Rd. & Wholesale Club

Service Changes

Starting Sunday, February 22, Thunder Bay Transit will introduce minor schedule adjustments on select routes to help improve on-time performance and service reliability.

Routes affected:

Route 2
Route 9
Route 14
Route 15
Route 18

Temporary Waterfront Terminal Relocation

Beginning Monday, July 14, 2025, Thunder Bay Transit will temporarily relocate operations from the Waterfront Terminal to a nearby location on Cumberland Street North to allow for upgrades to the existing terminal.

The temporary terminal will be located on Cumberland Street North, between Van Norman Street and Camelot Street. This section of the street will be closed to regular traffic; however, buses will continue to operate and have access.

Bus Stop Locations:

Routes 3C, 3J, 3M, 7, and 9 will board and depart from the northbound side of Cumberland Street North.
Routes 1, 2, 11, 13, and 17 will board and depart from the southbound side of Cumberland Street North.

Buses will operate on a first in, first out basis at the temporary terminal.
