Approximately 15 centimetres of snow fell throughout the day and overnight Saturday, as a large weather system moved through the area. Warmer temperatures forecast for today are expected to assist with melting snow on roadways, sidewalks, and trails.
Road Plowing
Road crews began clearing priority routes — including arterial, collector, and transit routes — at 2am today. These routes should all be completed at this time, with additional maintenance continuing throughout the day. Residential street plowing has not been initiated at this time. With warmer temperatures expected, conditions will continue to be monitored and addressed over the coming days.
Sidewalk & Trail Plowing
Sidewalk clearing on arterial, collector, and core-area streets began at 3am and will continue throughout the day. Residential sidewalk and trail clearing will begin once all priority routes are completed.
Road Sanding & Salting
Sanding and salting operations began yesterday and continued through the evening and overnight hours. Residential sanding will begin once all priority routes have been completed.
