New Parking Zones
The City of Thunder Bay is expanding its parking management program with the launch of 33 new parking zones across the city, making it easier for residents and visitors to manage parking through the Passport Parking Canada app.
The new zones include 18 on the North Side and 15 on the South Side and will come into effect starting November 12, 2025.
List of Parking Zones with Streets
The following zones remain the same:
- Zone 8073 - Bay / Algoma
- Zone 8074 - Westfort
Passport Parking App
Drivers are reminded to use the Passport Parking Canada app for all parking - both free and paid. The app allows users to easily manage parking sessions, receive alerts, and extend time remotely.
The Passport Parking Canada app is available for free on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Simply search for “Passport Parking Canada” and download. Visit the Passport Parking website here.
Data collected through the Passport Parking app is used in non-identifying ways. This means your personal information is kept confidential and is not shared. The data is used to understand overall parking patterns and help City Council make informed decisions.
The Passport Parking App is also used to issue tickets and manage fines – this is the only time the City uses personal information collected in the app, and it is never shared.
