INSPIRE 2026: Empowering the Next Generation of Female Athletes
Join us for INSPIRE 2026, a one-of-a-kind event designed to connect Grade 8 girls with community organizations that promote physical activity and sports. Taking place on May 12 & 13, 2026, at Lakehead University, this exciting event aims to inspire young girls to explore new activities and discover the many benefits of lifelong physical fitness.

Through hands-on experiences, participants will have the opportunity to try various sports and physical activities, meet passionate instructors, and connect with a community of women who are dedicated to promoting health and wellness. Our goal is to build lasting bridges between these young girls and local organizations that can help support their journey to active, healthy lives.
As a part of the event, INSPIRE 2026 will feature a keynote speech by Victoria Posselwhite, an empowering voice in the world of women in sports, who will inspire and motivate the next generation of female athletes. High school athletes will also be on hand as mentors, providing guidance and sharing their own stories of perseverance and success.
This event is made possible through the collaboration of the City of Thunder Bay, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, SSSAA, Lakehead University, and Giant Gymnastics. A special thank you to Tbaytel for presenting the event and to Subway for sponsoring our luncheon.
INSPIRE 2026 is more than just an event – it’s a movement to foster a strong, healthy future for girls through physical activity. We hope to see you there!
